Acrylic Design Adds to LED Manufacturing Expertise
Acquisition of LED Manufacturing business makes building lighted displays more efficient
We are excited to announce that Acrylic Design Associates has acquired the manufacturing arm of Lightboard Technologies, a Minnesota-based provider of LED lighting solutions.
While Lightboard Technologies will continue to serve as a supplier of LED parts, the building of LED light strips, harnesses and other assemblies will now be handled in-house at Acrylic Design. Already a leader in creating LED-illuminated fixtures, signs and other design features, adding this manufacturing capability enhances Acrylic Design’s ability to deliver innovative, high-quality solutions to our clients.
Why LED Lighting?
LED lights are the preferred choice for lighting a variety of retail and architectural applications, due to their many advantages over other options such as neon, fluorescent, halogen and incandescent lighting, to name a few. Some of these advantages include:
- Energy Efficiency. LEDs consume significantly less power than traditional lighting, helping to lower energy costs and improve sustainability.
- Lifespan. LEDs offer the longest lifespan compared to other common lighting options, reducing the need for replacements and maintenance.
- Brightness and Customization. LEDs can be configured in a wide variety of ways to optimize brightness, warmth, and dynamic effects such as dimming or color changes.
- Design Flexibility. LEDs can be incorporated into a variety of shapes, sizes and materials, allowing for creative and customized installations. Their compact size means they can be used to illuminate small and intricate applications, as well.
- Light Guide Plates. Acrylic Design uses LEDs to build light guide plates, which are used to evenly distribute light across a variety of retail displays, fixtures and signs. This eliminates the hot or dark spots that can occur with traditional lighting techniques.
- Environmental Benefits. LEDs do not contain hazardous materials like mercury (found in fluorescent lights) and are recyclable. They also produce less heat, which contributes to energy efficiency. And when paired with Recrylic® certified recycled acrylic, they can be a big part of reducing a project’s carbon footprint.
- Reliability. All LED innovations created by Acrylic Design come with a worry-free warranty and are eligible for UL certification, a globally recognized mark of safety, quality, and compliance for electrical products.
